History
Mirshak Law – practicing in Georgia and South Carolina – was established by Timothy S. Mirshak in 1978 as a firm engaged in the general practice of law. Over the years, our office has developed a wide-ranging practice in the areas of family law, personal injury, and medical malpractice litigation.
While we have developed a principal focus on family law (including divorce, adoption, child custody, and litigation involving complex financial and property division issues), we continue to actively practice in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice, as well as in wills, probate and guardianship.
The success of our office has been built one client at a time, as we do not historically advertise. We enjoy referrals from a diverse base of clients and attorneys in the states of Georgia and South Carolina.
While the firm is dedicated to advancing the interests of our clients effectively and efficiently, Brian and staff are always aware that legal issues are often emotionally charged and are rarely easy.
Therefore, we strive to approach resolutions with compassion, understanding, and “common sense” solutions.
In all cases, we do what is necessary to help our clients navigate the judicial system during what may be one of the most difficult periods of their life. Tim Mirshak was fond of repeating the following words he once heard at a seminar: “The legal system should, to the extent possible, add no additional emotional pain or harm to the people going through a divorce or child custody matter than is otherwise necessary.” This approach requires assisting clients in utilizing a non-adversarial approach and focusing on the issues and facts that the legal system can address in helping people move forward.
While family law is the principal area of focus for Mirshak Law, we continue to work in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, and other areas of litigation. Over the last 20 years, the firm has participated in settlements or trials that have resulted in recoveries of between $1 million and $8 million.
Our great depth and breadth of legal experience allows us to implement strategies designed to provide our clients and their families with the best possible outcome. We provide personal attention to all of our cases and will never hand your case over to a paralegal. We believe that effective and early preparation often leads to early and successful outcomes for our clients.
